Florida Roadtrippin'
Before we left for Australia, Mad and I were scheduled to shoot this beautiful wedding in Fort Myers. We decided what better time to check out sunny southern Florida? We started in Miami and stayed in South Beach to check out all the trendy coolness and quirkyness it has to offer. Then it was off to the most southernly city in the US, Key West. We only stayed a night, as that was all our livers could handle, before heading north up Rt. 1 in the keys to Islamorada. Got an amazing deal at a beautiful hotel, and we even spent a day fishing the everglades with Captain Rich Smith and another taking a crazy aerobatic biplane ride over the keys (see animated gif below). Then it was up to St. Petersburg to check out the cool city and America's best beach at Siesta Key, with such white sand it reminded me of some of the beautiful beaches in tropical Australia. Then our ultimate destination before the wedding was a drive up to Crystal River, home of warm natural springs and one of the only spots in the world you can swim with the manatees in the wild... a dream of Maddie's. All in all we had an amazing trip with perfect weather, and tons of photo ops as you'll see. Been struggling to get some good internet in Australia, c'mon now Optus!!! Anyway, think I finally got enough connection to make a post, much more to come. Check em out!!!
