Lauren and Allen

Wow, what an amazing weekend!  Lauren and Allen booked me to shoot their Boston wedding last weekend all the way from Hong Kong earlier in the year.  This was the first Chinese wedding I've ever shot, and man was it an experience.  Many similarities and many differences during the day to what I'm used to, so it was very cool to have a new take on weddings in America.  Maddie and I headed up to Boston for this beautiful weekend with some serious fall foliage happening, along with a substantial drop in temperature.  Everything turned out to be a great success though, and it was cool to see so many people travel from all over the world to celebrate Lauren and Allen's big day.  And big day it should have been, as they finally tied the knot after 19 years of dating!!  We started on Saturday at a farm outside Boston, catching up with friends and family apple picking, playing cornhole, and an awesome lobster feast rehearsal dinner at ECCR.  ECCR is a beautiful and very natural venue tucked away in the woods north of Boston, and was the perfect location for these two to tie the knot.  After the ceremony on Sunday we drove into Chinatown, Boston to Hei La Moon for a Chinese banquet with about 400 people.  There were plenty of games throughout the day and night, laughing was plentiful, and everyone had a great time.  Check out a few of my favorites from the weekend, this one's a bit heavier on the images than usual!

one of the major differences in chinese weddings, the games played before the bride and groom can see each other.  the bride and bridesmaids make up games that the groomsmen have to do and then they have to approve of how well the games are done before the groom can see the bride.  you can see lauren watching from the bridal suite as allen gets lipstick put on that had to be transferred between the groomsmen, and then they had to get out some of their dancing skills.  pretty hysterical to watch and be a part of, haha!

cheers!  this was another different custom, the bride and groom go to each table, say a quick word or two, cheers, and throw one back.
